Folks who are swept away by a fascination with dance have a natural desire to go behind the scenes and see the dancers at work, or meet them in person. This is being capitalised on by companies where, for the right price, donors can attend open rehearsals, even sponsor a particular dancer—and a symbiotic arrangement it is: balletomanes get what they crave and dance companies augment their funding.
